Ramadan Fundraising Concert to support STEAM CURES

The Arab Student Association at Tufts and UMASS Amherst, the Network of Arab-American Professionals (NAAP) and the Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church are co-hosting a Ramadan fundraising concert featuring Basel Zayed to support STEAM CURES.

When: Saturday May 18th @ 6:30PM
Where: The Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church on 155 Powder Hill Blvd, Somverille, MA

As we embark into the holy month of Ramadan, Clarendon Hill Presbyterian church is excited to host a meal to break the fast of Muslims after the concert to show unity and solidarity within our community.

Basel Zayed is a virtuoso oud player and an acclaimed vocalist skilled in classical and contemporary Arabic music. He draws on deep experience with the Maqam (Arabic) music tradition to explore the beauty and universality of Middle Eastern music, especially when combined with other musical styles, such as jazz.

STEAM Cures (Science Technology Engineering Art and Math for Communities with Under-served or Refugees Educators and Students) is a project started in 2017 building STEAM capacity to empower future scientists and Engineers to rebuild their counties and communities.
STEAM Cures provides STEM education supplies for refugee camps, trains teachers on the latest STEM education techniques using affordable materials available in their communities, and establishes STEAM Education clubs to build future engineers and scientists.
