“From [Christ’s] fullness we have all received grace upon grace.” — John 1:16
Grounded in the love of God, guided by the grace of Jesus Christ, and moved by the power of the Spirit, Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church is a caring community of faith that is strongly committed to the practice of peace, love and justice in our wider communities. We seek to be a place of grace that helps us all on our journey toward a greater sense of holiness and wholeness with a loving God. We also like to have fun!
Simply put, Clarendon Hill welcomes YOU. If you are faithful or seeking, in town for a time or a long-time resident, we welcome you. If you are young or old, rich or poor, gay or straight, whatever your ethnic or racial identity, we welcome you. We value the international makeup of our faith community. God’s love is for all people and we strive to live that as an inclusive congregation. We respect the dignity of all people. We invite you to join us on our shared journey of faith.
We are a congregation that is very open to the people of Somerville and beyond. In our commitment to the arts, we host many musical events and are the home site of the Nave Art Gallery – a very active local arts community. In our commitment to the marginalized, we sponsor many fundraisers and support organizations that serve the poor and neediest among us. We have a longtime commitment to peace with justice in the Middle East and beyond.
In sum, we are active Presbyterians who welcome people with many different faith perspectives. We learn from one another, and we learn to listen to one another, and so we come closer to our understanding of how God is present in our shared world. Come and visit – often! If you would like to know more about our church, please contact me or ask anyone in the congregation. We look forward to getting to know you!
