“Children’s Sabbath”
Sunday, October 21st
10:30 a.m.
Clarendon Hill Presbyterian Church (155 Powderhouse Blvd) will participate in the national observance of the Children’s Sabbath, sponsored by the Children’s Defense Fund. The focus of this year’s observance is:
“Realizing Dr. King’s Vision for Every Child:
Lives of Hope, Not Despair”
** We will have special participation in the service by our children!!
** We will honor Gale Morano for her longtime commitment to working with children. Gale has recently retired as the Director of the Open Center (located in our building since the early 1970s), and has been Director for most of the years since its founding!
** We also invite donations of Homeless Children Backpacks, to be given as part of our participation in the Nave Gallery’s annual Wrap Around Sale (sale of knit goods to benefit the Somerville Homeless Coalition).
For this donation, you can either (1) put together a whole backpack for a child, filled with anything you think might be useful for a child to have in going to school (pencils, paper, lunchbox, water bottle, healthy non-perishable snacks, etc.) or (2) bring items that could go into a backpack or (3) a backpack!!
[NOTE: Childcare available during the service]
